Visits and fees
What medication care costs, for the whole year.
Medication care is a rhythm, not a single visit, so this page prices the rhythm: one $350 intake, then $250 follow-ups, or an insurance copay typically between $0 and $40 per visit instead. Every number is verified before your first visit, and the arithmetic for a full year of care is worked out below, in the open, because a prescriber who will not publish his prices is telling you something.
PsychMed Care is the medication management practice of Solutions Psychiatry. If you are looking for therapy, or therapy and medication together, the full practice is at psych.us.
The two visits
Two prices, both flat
The 60-minute intake: $350
The full evaluation: your history, your health, every medication you have tried, the labs and testing picture, and a plan with a target and a timeline. One hour, one flat price, no add-ons for complexity.
The 30-minute follow-up: $250
Measurement, side effects, labs reviewed, one change at a time. Thirty minutes is the product: the refill mills sell five, and the difference shows up in your outcomes, not just your calendar.
With insurance: typically $0 to $40
Most in-network patients pay a copay in that range per visit instead of the rates above. Aetna, Cigna, UnitedHealthcare and Optum, the Blue Cross Blue Shield family, Oscar, Oxford, Carelon, Providence, and more are in network, plus Medicare in five states and Medicaid in two. Your plan is verified before your first visit and your exact copay is stated up front.
Tests are billed by the lab
GeneSight, when it is part of your plan, is billed by the GeneSight lab, not marked up here: 98 percent of patients pay $330 or less, and on Medicare Part B the typical cost is $0. Your maximum is confirmed before anything is ordered. Labs run through LabCorp the same way, ordered here, billed through your coverage.
The year, modeled
A year of medication care, in plain arithmetic
Say we meet monthly in the first year, which is a typical rhythm while a plan is being built and proven: one intake plus eleven follow-ups. Self-pay, that is $350 plus 11 times $250, a total of $3,100 for the year. With in-network insurance, the same year is the intake and follow-ups at your copay: at a $25 copay, $300 for the year. As stability holds, follow-ups usually space out, every six to eight weeks is common, and the annual figure falls with them. These are illustrations built from the two flat prices above, not quotes; your verified number, copay or self-pay, is the one you will actually be charged, and you will have it before the first visit, not after the first bill.
A second example, for the steadier pattern many patients reach once the plan is proven: follow-ups every six to eight weeks, call it seven in a year, runs 7 times $250, or $1,750 for the year self-pay, and proportionally less at a copay. The direction of the number over time is the point: good medication care gets cheaper as it works, because stability needs less of it.
The rules that protect you
No surprise bills is a design, not a slogan
Three commitments hold across every page of this site. First, verification before visit one: your plan, your copay, your cost, confirmed and stated, with the self-pay rates as the honest fallback if a plan does not verify. Second, nothing is ordered on your behalf without its price attached: tests, labs, and any change in visit rhythm comes with its number first. Third, the rhythm itself is a clinical decision, not a billing one: follow-ups space out when your measures say they can, and a stable patient is never kept on a monthly meter for the practice's convenience.
Practice-wide billing, the full price list, payment logistics, and superbills, lives at the hub: practice fees and billing. Checking a specific plan, yours included, starts at the insurance hub. What this page owns is narrower: what medication care, specifically, costs, and what a year of it adds up to.
